Solar PV panels are a great investment!
As a member of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) we install solar panels that qualify for the UK Goverment's Feed-In Tariff Scheme (FITs).
FITs are payments for the electricity generated by your solar panels. The payments are Government backed, tax-free, index linked and guaranteed for 20 years.
What will a solar PV system cost?
Listed below are guideline prices for 3 different sizes of solar PV system - fully fitted. The price will depend on your roof type, the equipment you choose and things like access and scaffolding requirements.

How much can I earn from solar panels?
Solar PV systems typically give a really good return on investment of between 7 and 9%. The income is a mixture of the Feed-In Tariff payments and savings on electricity bills.
For example, a house in the south of Cumbria with 16 solar panels (4kWp) should give a return of around £500 per year. This is based on a good south-facing roof with a pitch of 35% and no shading.
Which means, at a system cost of £6500, the first year return is 7.7% and the system would pay for itself in 11 years 6 months (the payments are linked to inflation).
What if your roof doesn't face south? Not a problem, the energy production drops by only 6% for a South-west or South-east facing roof.
